Aggregate of crystals of apatite (rose), dolomite (white) and pyrrhotite (black). The name apatite refers to a number of minerals of different compositions, including various metal phosphates, arsenates and vanadates. Dolomite is calcium magnesium carbonate, a basic constituent of sedimentary carbonate rocks. Pyrrhotite is a sulphide of iron, containing varying amounts of sulphur, and is sometimes known as magnetic pyrites. This specimen measures 10 x 6 cm and was found in Morro Velho's Mine, Nova Lima, Brazil.
