. Blood sampling procedure. Nurse flushes saline to clear a catheter after drawing a sample of blood from a chest vein (superior vena cava) in a 27 year old female patient suffering Hodgkin's disease. The blood (not visible) will be used for tissue typing, because the patient may need a bone marrow transplant. The patient has already received anticancer treatment, with subsequent loss of her hair.
