They are found on the floor of the mouth at either side of the tongue. The sublingual glands are divided into lobules each consisting of predominately mucous secreting units white a few serous secreting units, both of which are continuous with secretory ducts. Connective tissue seen here runs between the lobules carrying blood vessels, nerves excretory ducts. Saliva, a watery secretion, contains enzymes, which initiate the digestive process.
