Yasunori Kagoike former head of Moritomo Gakuen speaks during a news conference at The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan on February 26, 2020, Tokyo, Japan. Yasunori and his wife Junko Kagoike visited the Club to explain their position after the former head of Moritomo Gakuen has been sentenced to five years in jail for defrauding the government of subsidies. Also, Junko Moritomo was given a three-year suspended term for related charges. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's wife (Akie Abe) was once the honorary principal of Moritomo Gakuen, which was given a massive discount for the use of land in Osaka.
