Wild aspen (Populus tremula)
Wild aspen (Populus tremula) with its branches covered in hoar frost. Hoar frost forms when air saturated with water vapour cools rapidly and the vapour precipitates out directly onto a freezing surface. Photographed in the Jura mountains, France.
