Sinai Peninsula from space. At bottom right is Saudi Arabia. The Sinai Peninsula stretches from lower centre to lower left. It is separated from Saudi Arabia by the Gulf of Aqaba and from Egypt by the Gulf of Suez. The Gulf of Suez joins with the Mediterranean Sea (centre right) via the Suez Canal. At centre is the Nile Delta, with the Nile River joining it at left. Photograph taken from space shuttle Atlantis during STS-125 on 12 May 2009.
