Ancient Peruvian temple
Ancient Peruvian temple. This is the remains of a temple site (Huaca Chotuna) at the Chotuna-Chornancap archaeological site, in northern Peru. The temple was built by the Lambayeque people, also referred to as the Sican culture. These pre-Inca people inhabited an area on the coastline of what is now northern Peru for several hundred years (750 to 1375). Photographed in 2009.
