Protein synthesis, artwork
Protein synthesis. Computer artwork showing a ribosome (round, left) reading the nucleotide bases on a strand of mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid, orange) to allow it to join together a specific sequence of amino acids (blue spheres) into an amino acid chain (blue, coiled). This process is called translation. The chain of amino acids will then fold in a specific way to form a protein.
