ISS trail over the Dali Museum
ISS trail over the Dali Museum, Figueres, Spain, composite time-exposure images. The streaks of light (across top) were formed as the International Space Station (ISS) passed across the night sky. The ISS orbits the Earth at a height of around 360 kilometres. It can be seen in the night sky with the naked eye, and takes 92 minutes to complete an orbit. The ISS has been crewed since October 2000. The Dali Theatre and Museum (bottom) opened in 1974 to showcase the works of Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali (1904-1989).
