Spiral galaxy NGC 4710, Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image. This spiral galaxy, seen edge-on from Earth, is part of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies. There is a central bulge of stars, obscured by dust lanes, and surrounded by a flat disk of stars, dust, and gas. The galaxy is 65 million light years away, in the constellation of Coma Berenices. This optical image was obtained on 15 January 2006 by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS).
