Front anatomy of the eye, illustration
Front anatomy of the eye. Illustration of the anatomy of the front of the human eye, sectioned and seen from the side with the front of the eye at left. This view shows the lens (centre right) and the cornea (bulge at left). At upper left is an eyelash protruding from the upper eyelid. Also shown are the ciliary body and suspensory ligaments that hold the lens in position. The iris covers most of the lens, with the gap that lets light into the lens known as the pupil.
