Brazil, satellite image. North is at top. Brazil is the largest country in South America. It shares borders with every country in South America with the exception of Chile and Ecuador. Brazil is home to the world's largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon (dark green, upper left). The Amazon basin is the most biodiverse area on Earth and the Amazon itself is the world's second longest river. The Atlantic coast of Brazil is home to the country's largest cities Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (bottom right). The country's capital city, Brasilia (pink area, centre) is landlocked.
