DNA sculpture
DNA sculpture. This is the DNA tower at the Epcot theme park in Walt Disney World, Florida, USA. It is 23 metres tall and shows two DNA molecules that are meshed together (this does not happen in real life). One is white with blue struts and the other is gold with red struts. The struts are the nucleotide bases. The white and gold parts are the strands (two for each molecule) that are held together by the nucleotide bases to form the double helix shape of DNA. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), found in cell nuclei, is the molecule that carries the genetic code as the sequence of the nucleotide bases. The genetic code controls human growth and development.
