Forensic evidence
Forensic evidence. Swab sample from a crime scene on top of genetic testing results. In the foreground is a police evidence bag. If a person is arrested by the police, they must supply a saliva sample. From this a DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) profile can be formed and compared to profiles already held on the National DNA Database UK (NDNAD). The NDNAD was set up by the Forensic Science Service in 1995.
