Passive smoking
Passive smoking. Mother stubbing a cigarette out while holding her young daughter. The child is sucking her thumb. Inhalation of tobacco smoke by passive smoking is implicated as a major cause of asthma in children. It can also cause other respiratory problems such as wheezing, bronchitis, and lung cancer. Children exposed to passive smoking may be more likely to become smokers themselves.
