Ecstasy is a slang name for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, and is used as a drug to produce a feeling of euphoria and confidence, and has been known to cause mild hallucinations. It is most often produced and taken in pill form, as seen here. The drug itself is not addictive, but short term risks include overheating and the possibility of toxic contaminants in the pill itself. A relatively new drug, its long term effects are unknown, although brain damage has been cited as one possible risk."
