Three months after the Miyakejima eruption Desolate bare forest around Shin Mioike buried by volcanic ash
Tsugiozan (460 meters above sea level), located in the middle of Mt. The volcanic fumes and steam reached up to 10,000 meters, and lava flows from the numerous eruptions hit the Ako district in the western part of the island, burning down forests and houses and pouring into the sea.
