Allergy testing
Allergy testing. Complementary medicine practitioner holding a sensor against a patient's hand during an allergy test. The sensor is pressed against an acupuncture point on the hand, allowing the diagnosis of allergies to food types and environmental pollutants. The patient can then be informed which substances to avoid, reducing fatigue, aches and other ailments. This form of alternative medicine measures electric signals from the skin, and identifies any signals that are abnormal. It is based on the principles of acupuncture, in which energy flows through the body in channels, and blockages lead to disorders.
