Dental anaesthetic
Dental anaesthetic. Dental worker injecting a local anaesthetic into the gum of a patient's tooth. This will numb the gum to allow a simple surgical procedure, such as a single tooth extraction, and reduce the patient's pain. Local anaesthesia allows the patient to remain conscious during the operation and is preferred to the more complicated general anaesthesia.
