Shochiku Film's signature film, the Tora-san series starring Kiyoshi Atsumi, marks its 36th installment. The setting of this year's drama is Shikinejima, Tokyo. Tora-san falls in love with Komaki Kurihara, who plays an elementary school teacher on the island, which is the usual pattern. The drama will be interwoven with appearances by the islanders in the midst of the great nature. The Tora-san filming is progressing smoothly, with the cooperation of the island's tourist association, and the islanders' support, including the provision of transportation vehicles and meals for the film crew, the preparation of filming equipment and props, and trash pickup.
