Red sea urchin
Red sea urchin (Strongylocentrotus franciscanus) amongst purple sea urchins (Strongylocentrotus purpuratus) in a tide pool at low tide. Sea urchins feed mainly on algae, but will also eat invertebrates such as mussels, sponges and brittle stars. Photographed at Tongue Point, in Washington, USA.
