Blue-green damselfish
Blue-green damselfish (Chromis viridis) swimming and hiding around an Acropora sp. coral. At the slightest hint of danger these fish flee and hide amongst the coral branches. These fish are found on reefs in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. They feed on plankton, mostly taking plant material, and can reach a length of around 8 centimetres. Their bright colour and small size make them popular aquarium fish. Photographed in the Red Sea.
