Zodiacal light and the Milky Way. The centre of the Milky Way galaxy is visible from top centre to bottom centre. This image is tilted 90 degrees so that the horizon is at far right. The band of light running from right to left is zodiacal light. Also known as a 'false dawn' zodiacal light is the glow of light scattered by interplanetary dust.
