Roesel's bush-cricket
Roesel's bush-cricket (Metrioptera roeselii), a medium sized and robust cricket. It has a single generation each year, with female crickets cutting open grass stems with their ovipositor to lay eggs. Roesel's bush-cricket is found across southern and central Europe. In the UK it is was restricted to coastal marsh areas but is now expanding its range across different habitats.
