Milky Way over Nanshan observatory, Xinjiang, China
Arc of the Milky Way over the Nanshan observatory in Xinjiang, China. The Milky Way is our galaxy seen from the inside. It appears as a hazy band of stars and nebulae stretching across the sky. Cassiopeia is seen at the left side of the Milky Way arc, while constellations Sagittarius and Scorpio are seen at right. The Summer Triangle appears above the telescope. Planet Jupiter at centre right is the brightest object in the sky. Photographed on 2 July 2019., by JEFF DAI / SCIENCE PHOTO LIBRARY
