Shimanto Ameijo, the sunken bridge at Takase and the wild dance of Genji fireflies
The Shimanto River, which flows through the western part of Kochi Prefecture, has long been called the last clear river in Japan. Chinka-bashi (submerged bridge) is a bridge without parapets that is designed to submerge under the water to prevent it from being washed away in the event of heavy water. This photo was taken from the other side of the river, including onlookers watching genji botaru fireflies flying even on rainy days.
