Shimanto River, Takase sunken bridge and Genji fireflies dancing wildly
The Shimanto River, which flows through the western part of Kochi Prefecture, has long been called the last clear stream in Japan. The fireflies are seen dancing wildly from the other side of the river over the Takase Bridge (Takase Chinkabashi Bridge). A submerged bridge is a bridge without parapets that sinks below the surface of the water to prevent it from being washed away in times of heavy water. One flew into a river fisherman's boat.
