Fibroscan diagnostic device
FibroScan is a non-invasive medical test that helps to evaluate the liver's health. The test measures the stiffness of the liver, which can indicate the presence of liver fibrosis (scarring) and cirrhosis. The FibroScan diagnostic device uses a technique called transient elastography, where a special probe is placed on the skin's surface, typically on the right side of the abdomen. The probe sends sound waves into the liver, and the speed at which these sound waves travel through the liver tissue is measured. This measurement provides information about the liver's stiffness.
