Katsushika Harp Bridge" on the Katsushika-Edogawa line, a 455 meter long curved diagonal bridge
The Katsushika Harp Bridge, located on the Katsushika-Edogawa Line of the Expressway Central Loop Route, was completed in September 1987. The Expressway Chuo Loop Route runs northward from the Expressway Wangan Route along the left bank of the Arakawa River to the Joban Expressway and the Tohoku Expressway. The Harp Bridge connects the left bank of the Arakawa River with the left bank of the Ayase River in Katsushika Ward, where the Nakagawa and Ayase Rivers meet and become the Arakawa River. The length of the harp bridge is 455 meters. Although there have been a series of large scale cable-stayed bridges, all of them are straight, and after the Katsushika Harp Bridge, there has not been a full-scale curved cable-stayed bridge yet.
