U2's (from left) Larry, Bono, Edge, and Adam, who came to Japan. U2, a popular rock band from Ireland, performed a total of six times in Tokyo, Osaka and other cities. The four-member group is known as a socially conscious group that looks at various movements in the world. Formed in Dublin in 1978, U2 debuted the following year, and their 1987 album "Joshua Tree" sold over 15 million copies worldwide and won the Grammy Award for "Best Album" that year, making them one of the world's top groups in both name and reality.
