The King and Queen of Monaco visit Japan Queen Grace planting a commemorative tree at the Portopia venue On April 4, 1981, King Rainier III (58) and Queen Grace (51) of the Principality of Monaco, together with their second daughter Princess Stephanie (16), arrived in Japan by Air France plane arriving at Osaka International Airport to visit Portopia´81 being held in Kobe. Queen Grace is the former popular Hollywood actress Grace Kelly. The King and Queen Grace stayed in Japan for 10 days, visited Portopia, attended the Monaco Art Exhibition, and visited famous places in Kyoto and Toba before coming to Tokyo on the 11th, meeting His Majesty the Emperor at the Imperial Palace on the 13th, and leaving Narita Airport for Hawaii that night.
