What We Stand For
Japan is one of the most visually dynamic countries in the world, and one of the largest markets for
photos and videos. Aflo offers contributors the chance to penetrate this market and also to obtain global
exposure for their work. We strive to give our creators a fair pay and a personal relationship. We love
imagery and creative people, and can’t wait for you to join us.
What We Do Differently
Aflo has been in the stock and editorial photography game for more than 40 years. We have seen the
market change with the advent of digital photography and the race to low prices, but we still believe
that great visuals shouldn’t be given away for nothing. We pride ourselves in keeping licensing fees
fair to both our clients and contributors, and royalty rates higher than our competitors. Our editors
will always treat your work with care and respect, and help you reach a broad number of clients both in
Asia and worldwide. We have a preference for contributors that can work on an exclusive basis, but we
also work with non-exclusive content.

What We Are Looking For
Our goal with Afloimages is to build the most diverse premium stock archive in Asia. We are always looking
for creatives with a unique perspective and a distinctive style to join our photo and video collections.
Wether you’re a seasoned professional or a young content creator with a unique view, we’d like to hear
from you! We’re particularly interested in premium quality landscape, aerials, animals, sport and
lifestyle imagery, both stills and video.
Why Rights Managed?
The race to low prices and explosion of micro-stock marketplaces certainly represents a big portion of
today’s stock photography market. Unfortunately Royalty-free licenses cannot guarantee a high level of
exclusivity and peace of mind to those clients who want to bring their campaign to the next level. This is
where Rights-managed content remains strong. When a company wants to ensure their competitors won’t use
the same model in their own campaign, grant some degree of exclusivity on a visual for a calendar, or just
don’t want to pay for a wide usage but only for what it’s needed: this is where Rights-managed licensing
really shines.
Rights-managed also means more control for the artist. It’s easier to check how
your work has been used and by who on a regular basis: something that is just not possible with
Royalty-free. Sensitive subject matter and editorial-worthy content needs extra care, especially when
commercial use is involved. Our team carefully checks for all rights-related issues in your imagery, and
works with you to give the client that extra peace of mind.
What We Are Looking For
Aflo was founded by a sport photographer in 1980. Thanks to its long editorial tradition, high quality
sport photography is one of Aflo’s biggest strengths. Our in-house team covers all the major sport
events in Japan and worldwide, and we are always looking for talented editorial photographers covering
big events around the world. We are particularly interested in high quality imagery of famous Japanese
athletes competing overseas, but that’s not all! We’re also always interested in photographers who can
cover Asia-related events and world-class entertainment and fashion shows in different countries. If
you think your work stands out we’d love to hear from you.
