Ahuna Mons, Ceres, satellite image
Ahuna Mons, Ceres. Satellite images of the Ahuna Mons mountain on the dwarf planet Ceres (the elevation has been exaggerated by a factor of two). Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt, which lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Ahuna Mons measures 4 kilometres high and 17 kilometres wide. It is one of the few sites on Ceres where a significant amount of sodium carbonate has been found (green and red, lower right image). Imaged by the Framing Camera on NASA's Dawn space probe.
