Male Madagascar paradise flycatcher
Madagascar paradise flycatcher male (Terpsiphone mutata) perched on a branch. This flycatcher is found in Madagascar and the Comoros Islands. Like most flycatchers, it swoops down on insects from a perch. This is the rufous coloured male in breeding plumage. Alternatively, certain males bear the black-backed white morph (a colour variation) plumage, which can be seen in image C041/5839. Photographed in Kirindy reserve, western Madagascar.
