Limestone reefs and channels, Palau. Aerial photograph of the limestone formations and coral reefs of the Ebiil Channel in Palau, a group of islands in Micronesia, in the Western Pacific Ocean. Known as the Rock Islands, these islands are uplifted relics of ancient coral reefs. They are a popular tourist destination, and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2012.
