August 29, 2010, Higashi-Fuji Training Field, Japan - Shinjiro Koizumi and Junko Mihara, both of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party, observe Ground Self-Defense force's live-ammunition firing exercise on its training ground on the foot of Mt. Fuji, southwest of Tokyo, on Sunday, August 29, 2010. About 2,400 GSDF troops took part in the "Fire Power 2010," the annual live-fire drill, using 44 tons of live ammunition as some 28,000 spectators looked on. The drill mobilized 80 vehicles, including tanks and armored cars, and about 80 artillery guns as well as around 30 aircraft that together used about 350 million yen worth of live fire.
