'Albrecht Von Wallenstein', (1933). Portrait of Bohemian general Albrecht von Wallenstein (1583-1634), who commanded the Catholic imperial armies during the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) until pressure from German princes persuaded the Habsburg emperor Ferdinand II to replace him with Count Tilly in 1630. He was assassinated after mounting a rebellion against the emperor in 1634. From "Gestalten Der Weltgeschichte", a book of cigarette-card portrait miniatures of figures in world history from the last four hundred years. [Germany, 1933]
