Glacier in Jokulsarlon Lagoon, Iceland
The Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is one of Iceland's most iconic tourist destinations. Located two hours east of the town of Vik on Iceland's southern coast, the lagoon formed over the last several decades as the glacier began to melt. Today, portions of the glacier break off as icebergs and float out across the lagoon to sea, where they are washed back ashore onto a black sand beach known as Diamond Beach, where they melt.
