This linear accelerator injects electrons into the green ring high energy ring, HER and positrons into the blue ring low energy ring, LER. The rings consist of 1600 magnets which guide and accelerate the particles toward a collision point at a centreofmass energy of 10.58 GeV. Here, a BELLE detector records the energies released and subatomic parti cles created by the collisions.
