Andrew Huxley

Sir Andrew Fielding Huxley (born 1917), British physiologist and Nobel laureate. Huxley was knighted in 1974, and appointed to the Order of Merit in 1983. Huxley shared the 1963 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with John Carew Eccles and Alan Lloyd Hodgkin. The share of the Nobel was awarded for Huxley's discoveries concerning nerve cell physiology.
