Steve Jobs (unknown date)
Steven Paul Jobs, computer entrepreneur, photographed holding a circuit board in the automated factory of NeXT computers, Fremont, California. In 1976, at the age of 21, Jobs co- founded Apple Computers with Steve Wozniak. In 1985, after Apple had become a billion-dollar company, Jobs was forced out. His latest venture, the NeXT computer, is similar in appearance to a conventional personal computer, but performs like a workstation linked to a mainframe machine. Like most other workstations, it uses the UNIX operating system to run a powerful array of processor chips & an optical memory system. The NeXT computer was launched in October 1988.
