Low grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Coloured light micrograph (LM) of a section through lymph node lymphoid tissue with follicular B-cell lymphoma, a type of low grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (cancer). In this, the cancerous B-cells (B-lymphocyte white blood cells) form into follicle-like groups (not visible with this stain). This lymphoma has a low malignancy, causing diverse symptoms including lymph node enlargement, headache and skin ulceration. Treatment is by radiotherapy, anti-cancer drugs and, if necessary, bone marrow transplant. Lymph nodes filter harmful organisms from tissue fluid. Haemotoxylin and Eosin stained cells. Magnification: x200 at 35mm size.
