Cancer cells of ovary. Coloured Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM) of carcinoma cancer cells of the human ovary. Known as 'endometrioid carcinoma' because these cells resemble carcinoma of the uterus. Two types of cells are seen: some ciliated cells with tufts of cilia (green); abundant secretory cells (pink) with microvilli (yellow) and rough secretory surfaces. These cells are cuboidal and/or columnar in shape, with irregular and proliferative growth. Carcinomas grow on the epithelial surface of body organs. It is a common ovarian cancer which can spread and may be fatal. Magnification: x3,550 at 6x7cm size. x3,550 at 4x5'(image measures 6x7cm)
