Lovell Radio Telescope at Jodrell Bank. The dish of the Lovell Radio Telescope dominates the horizon at the Jodrell Bank Observatory at sunset. The telescope dish has a diameter of 76 metres, and was the first large-dish radio telescope in the world. It is named in honour of Sir Bernard Lovell, British astronomer. The Jodrell Bank Observatory is near Macclesfield in Cheshire, UK.
