Molecular models of carbon tetrachloride
Molecular models of carbon tetrachloride. Carbon tetrachloride has been used as solvent, cleaning agent, fire retardant and as a precursor to refrigerants, among other things. The use of carbon tetrachloride is in rapid decline because it is a significant liver toxin as well as a greenhouse gas and an ozone depletor. Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (grey) and chlorine (green).
