Voyager 1 photograph of Saturn & its rings. The image was exposed to bring out detail in the rings, causing the illuminated crescent of the planet to be overexposed. The inner region of the rings, the C-ring, scatters less light & has a blue tinge. Next to the C-ring is the broad, bright B-ring, followed by the dark band of the Cassini Division, & then the bright A-ring. The picture was taken on November 13, 1980, after Voyager 1 had passed the planet & was looking back from a range of 1.5 million km.
