He is following the instruction and routine of the drill sergeant on the television screen. The camera below the television, records the shape of the subjects at regular intervals. A computer will then compare this data with fixed templates in its memory. By making this comparison it attempts to recognise a pattern and thus judge the subject's actions. The system can be used to judge exercise technique and effort. The drill sergeant on screen will react accordingly.
