Male stick insect (Achrioptera punctipes) on a branch. This stick insect lives in the rainforests of Madagascar. The male measures around 12 centimetres in length. It is half the size of the female (not seen). The male has large wings and brightly coloured, spiny legs. See Z310/036 for an image of A. punctipes mating.
