Cho Kuk, September 6, 2019 : A TV screen at the Seoul railway station in Seoul, South Korea, shows confirmation hearing on South Korea's justice minister nominee Cho Kuk being broadcast live from the National Assembly. The National Assembly legislation and judiciary committee held the session on Sep 6, almost a month after President Moon Jae-In nominated his former aide as justice minister, who is a symbolic figure for the liberal government's judiciary reform drive. The main opposition Liberty Korea Party demanded Cho's withdrawal with suspicions surrounding personal matters but President Moon is expected to appoint Cho in the coming days as Cho appears not to have broken any laws despite the controversy, according to local media.
