<Report>At around 2:40 a.m. on October 31, a fire broke out at Shuri Castle in the ruins of Shuri Castle, a World Heritage Site in Naha City, destroying seven buildings totaling approximately 4,800 square meters, including the three-story wooden Seiden (main building). Fifty-nine fire trucks were dispatched and 229 people worked to extinguish the fire, which was extinguished at 1:30 p.m. on the same day. One firefighter was taken to the hospital due to dehydration, but he did not survive. The Okinawa Prefectural Police and other authorities will conduct an on-the-spot investigation on the morning of January 1.
