Fifty-nine fire trucks were dispatched and 229 people worked to extinguish the fire, which was extinguished at 1:30 p.m. on the same day. One firefighter was taken to the hospital due to dehydration, but he did not survive. The Okinawa Prefectural Police and other authorities will conduct an on-the-spot investigation on the morning of January 1.
